What is a linguist? A linguist is a person skilled in more than one language. Linguists are often hired to perform
the following services: translation, transcription, interpretation (simultaneous or consecutive), escort interpretation, cultural
role-play, monitoring (of live phone calls), language and/or cultural training (in and out of a classroom environment),
and a host of other multi-cultural assignments.
I've never worked
as a translator before, do I have what it takes? With numerous contracts
requiring a variety of linguist skills, having little or no experience is not necessarily a dis-qualifier at TCS. With your
knowedge of languages and cultures, you possess the distinct ability to bridge some very real barriers and provide perspective
and understanding in our often misunderstood world.
